Why it matters
Electrical work is the one trade where customers check the paperwork first.
People will book a decorator on a recommendation and worry about the details later. They do not do that with electricians. Anyone who has read a single news story about a bad rewire knows that electrical work goes wrong quietly and expensively, so the first thing a customer looks for is evidence that you are registered, qualified and insured. A website that puts NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA or SELECT where it can be seen, and links it so it can be checked, answers that before you have spoken.
The second thing that decides whether the phone rings is place. Most electrical work now arrives through a local search, someone typing “electrician near me” or “EICR in” their town. A site that names the towns and postcodes you actually cover, in the places search engines read, gets found by the person three streets away. A site that says “we cover the local area” is invisible to both the search engine and the stranger.
Then there is the split in the work itself. Half your enquiries are urgent and half are planned, and they want completely different things from a page. The tripped board at ten at night wants a number under their thumb and nothing else. The landlord who needs an EICR before a tenancy, or the family pricing up a rewire, wants to read, compare and understand what happens next. We build the site so both find what they came for without either getting in the other’s way.
What a customer checks before they ring an electrician.
Registration, area, and a number. In that order, on the first screen.
-
Are you registered and insured?
NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA or SELECT, Part P, and your public liability cover. Shown where they will be seen and linked to the register so a cautious customer can check them.
-
Do you cover my street?
The towns and postcodes you work in, named. Local search matches on real place names, and so do customers deciding whether you will actually turn out.
-
Can you come now, or when?
A tappable number in the header on every page, your hours, and a clear line on emergency callouts. If you cover evenings and weekends, it says so before anyone scrolls.
The pages an electrician’s site needs.
Fast, lean, and built so the number is always one tap away.
-
Home
What you do, where, your registration, and the phone number before anyone scrolls.
-
Services
Rewires, consumer units, sockets and lighting, fault finding. Each in the words customers actually type.
-
EICRs and certificates
Landlord condition reports, new build certificates, what they involve and what you charge for them. One of the most searched terms in the trade.
-
EV charger installation
A growing part of most electrical books, and a page of its own if you do it. What you install, what a home needs, how long it takes.
-
Emergency callouts
If you do them: what counts as urgent, how fast you get there, and what to switch off while they wait.
-
Areas covered
Every town and postcode you work in, so local searches match and you are not quoting for jobs an hour away.
-
Registration and insurance
Your scheme membership, Part P, qualifications and cover, linked so people can verify them.
-
Get a quote
A short form with room for a photo of the board or the problem, plus the number. Works from a phone in a dark loft.

Questions electricians ask.
-
Yes, and we link it to the official register so a cautious customer can check it themselves. We only ever show a scheme logo you actually hold and are entitled to use.
-
If you do them, yes. Landlord condition reports are one of the most searched things in the trade, because there is a legal reason to go looking for one, and a page that explains what an EICR is, what it involves and how long it takes will bring in work on its own.
-
It should. It is a growing part of most electrical books and people search for it separately from general electrical work, so it gets its own page: what you install, what a home needs, and how long a typical fit takes.
-
That is exactly when it pays. A recommendation sends someone looking you up before they ring, and with electrical work they are looking for your registration. If they find nothing, a good number of them quietly ring the next name on the list instead.
